With the management plan complete, the focus at Bears Ears is on day-to-day care, coordination, and stewardship guided by Tribal leadership and carried out in collaboration with federal agencies.
The Bears Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition was recognized by Harvard’s Honoring Nations Awards for advancing Tribal leadership, Indigenous stewardship, and a landmark Tribal–federal land management plan, the first of its kind for a national monument.
